HBO House of the Dragon: Tower Bridge
A location-anchored AR experience for HBO’s House of the Dragon, placing dragons over Tower Bridge powered by Snapchat’s Custom Landmarker.
Snap and HBO partnered to deploy Custom Landmarker Lenses that bring dragons from House Targaryen into real cities. Led by creative director Clara Bacou, we built the Tower Bridge edition in Lens Studio - importing and optimizing 3D dragon assets into Snap’s Custom Landmarker template, then choreographing the dragon’s landing, take-off, and flight paths as it interacts with the landmark’s architecture.
We focused on polish and precision, making the experience feel seamless on-site. Across the wider campaign, fans near participating locations could find the Lenses as markers on Snapchat Map or from the HBO Max profile. Select the dragon for your city, aim the camera at the architectural landmark, and watch it appear and interact with the site. Notable locations included Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum), Mumbai (Gateway of India), New York (Pier 16), Seattle (Gas Works Park), and Rio de Janeiro (Monumento ao Visconde de Mauá), alongside London’s Tower Bridge.
